Olivia grew up, raised in the finest of high society, receiving the best of everything that money could buy. Tutors educated her and the church kept a spirited child in line. She was introduced at court at a very young age, thanks to her maternal grandfather's title, and even met Darius Kaur once or twice before the age of twenty. On the whole, she found him utterly unimpressive, although he could certainly dance well for an old man and dancing was always Olivia's favorite thing. In fact, she liked any sort of activity that allowed her to move. It was something of a concern to her parents that their daughter was more interested in running through the halls than sitting still to do her needlepoint, but on the whole, it wasn't the worst of things.

Sticky: Backstory
From her birth in the late 1600s, it was well known in Camarilla circles that the young Olivia Turpin was destined for Kindred life. In fact, her birth was manipulated by a Ventrue Primogen named Darius Kaur who, through his social connections, arranged for the marriage of Olivia’s parents, a young count and the daughter of a penniless lord, in the hopes that they would produce a female offspring. A year after they were married, Alexander and Mary Turpin were proud to announce the birth of their daughter, Olivia.

His Last Words
Should I have known from the beginning
This day would not be an ordinary one?
Sure there’s been danger, lots of running
But things have gone too far
And now it seems my time is done
Punch the clock and start the countdown
'Cause I’m ’bout to blast away
Cells ignite
Blinding light
Who’ll be left when I am done?
Oh, that is all part of the fun
Think of it as a change of wardrobe
Though the outcome I cannot foretell
A whole new set of quirks and customs
And you’ll never know
What I may pin on my lapel
Every era has its ending
But time rolls on, and so much I
No, don’t cry
While there’s life
There is something new to see
Wouldn’t you know?
Right now that something new is me
I who am about to die salute you
You were fantastic and so was I
It’s an end
But it’s not the end
It’s the process that allows me
And my adventures to survive
And I am feeling so alive
This day would not be an ordinary one?
Sure there’s been danger, lots of running
But things have gone too far
And now it seems my time is done
Punch the clock and start the countdown
'Cause I’m ’bout to blast away

Dramatis -- Selene Caine

Name: Selene "Nott" Caine
Age: 263
Race: Vampire -- Malkavian
Selene York – who would later become Nott – was born in the year 1747 in Notting Hill, England, the first daughter of Adam York, a professor of ancient religions, and his wife Lilith York, a Parliament member's daughter. The family was surprisingly well off, Adam being from new money. Selene had a privileged childhood, she and her younger sister, Diana, being given the best of everything. At the age of twelve, Selene became an older sister again when the third York daughter, Artemis, was born.
Selene was never close to her sisters during her mortal life. She remained aloof, understanding her role better than dreamy Diana and funny Artemis. Her role was to marry and have children with little fuss. Responsibility was rather important to Selene, even if she felt burdened by the pressure of her life. Though she attempted to have a close relationship towards her father, she begrudged the fact that she was never given the same love that her sisters enjoyed. Neither of her parents was close to Selene, preferring to see that she settled into the role she soon would play. There was little reason to pamper her now that younger children were in the house. Despite her annoyance, she always wore the necklace her father had given her as a gift on her sixteenth birthday

Fight the Dragons
I've never been a man who lived an office life
I've never been a man behind a desk
I've always been a man who said that staying still was playing dead
The kind who's looking forward to the challenges ahead
People say that's irresponsible
People tell me stay at home
But I'm not made for things like mowing lawns or apron strings
I'm my best, when not at rest
So I fight the dragons and I storm the castles
And I win a battle or two
Then comes the day it's time,
I'm packing up and I am bringing all my stories home to you
All I can see is miles ahead with miles to go
All I can feel is wind and sun and sky
Stop for a coffee, make a friend, and pray the day will never end
'Cause there's one more adventure waiting 'round another bend
Where I fight the dragons and I storm the castles
And I win a battle or two
But then a feeling comes
Like fifty thousand drums all banging, "Bring my stories home to you"
And I wonder as I wander on the road from door to door
Exactly what you think of where I've been
Do you know I joined the circus, met a mermaid, fought a war?
Do you know I think of you through thick and thin?
Because even though I'm making deals and bringin' people joy
I'm usually only thinking of my boy
Out there on the road I pray
You'll come to my one day
And say, "Let's fight the dragons and then storm the castles 'til we win what needs to be won"
So when I'm old and tired, you'll do the job required
You'll be there telling stories to your son
Then we fight the dragons and then storm the castles
And I do the best that I can
But everybody knows that's how the story goes
To turn each boy into a bigger man
So I'll fight the dragons
'Til
You can

Dramatis -- Artemis Seth

Name: Artemis Seth
Age: 250
Race: Vampire -- Malkavian
Artemis York–-who would later become Artemis Seth-–was born in the year 1759 in Notting Hill, England. She was the third child of Adam York, a professor of ancient religions, and his wife Lilith York, a Parliament member's daughter. The family was surprisingly well off, Adam being from new money. Artemis was a completely unexpected surprise, born seven years after her sister Diana and thirteen years after her sister Selene. She quickly became the complete apple of Adam's eye.
From an early age, there was something "slightly off" about Artemis, however. Something that alienated her from her mother. She often reported strange dreams. Unlike other girls her age, she showed little interest in dolls and pretty dresses. At times, she would say completely erratic and unpredictable things. Although her mother sometimes scolded her for predicting that Diana would one day march against the military or that Selene would bathe in rivers of blood, Artemis persisted, insisting that she was only telling the truth. It would be many, many years before Artemis and her family realized that these childish utterances were actually prophetic.

I Wanna Dance with Somebody
Clock strikes upon the hour
And the sun begins to fade
Still enough time to figure out
How to chase my blues away
I've done alright up to now
It's the light of day that shows me how
And when the night falls, loneliness calls
Oh, I wanna dance with somebody
I wanna feel the heat with somebody
Yeah, I wanna dance with somebody
With somebody who loves me
Oh, I wanna dance with somebody
I wanna feel the heat with somebody
Yeah, I wanna dance with somebody
With somebody who loves me
I've been in love and lost my senses
Spinning through the town
Sooner or later, the fever ends
And I wind up feeling down
I need a man who'll take a chance
On a love that burns hot enough to last
So when the night falls
My lonely heart calls
Oh, I wanna dance with somebody
I wanna feel the heat with somebody
Yeah, I wanna dance with somebody
With somebody who loves me
Oh, I wanna dance with somebody
I wanna feel the heat with somebody

Jump
There's only so much you can learn in one place
The more that I wait, the more time that I waste
I haven't got much time to waste, it's time to make my way
I'm not afraid of what I'll face, but I'm afraid to stay
I'm going down my own road and I can make it alone
All work and no fighting, I'll find a place of my own
Are you ready to jump?
Get ready to jump
Don't ever look back, oh baby
Yes, I'm ready to jump
Just take my hands
Get ready to jump
We learned our lesson from the start, my sisters and me
The only thing you can depend on is your family
And life's gonna drop you down like the limbs of a tree
It sways and it swings and it bends until it makes you see
Are you ready to jump?
Get ready to jump
Don't ever look back, oh baby
Yes, I'm ready to jump
Just take my hands
Get ready to, are you ready?

Out Tonight
What's the time?
Well, it's gotta be close to midnight
My body's talking to me
It says, "Time for danger"
It says, "I wanna commit a crime
Wanna be the cause of a fight
I wanna put on a tight skirt
and flirt with a stranger"
I've had a knack from way back
At breaking the rules once I learn the games
Get up, life's too quick, I know someplace sick
Where this chick'll dance in the flames
We don't need any money
I always get in for free
You can get in too
If you get in with me
Let's go out tonight
I have to go out tonight
You wanna play? Let's run away
We won't be back before it's Christmas Day
Take me out tonight
When I get a wink from the doorman
Do you know how lucky you'll be?
That you're on line with the feline of Avenue B
Let's go out tonight
I have to go out tonight
You wanna prowl, be my night owl
Well, take my hand, we're gonna howl out tonight
In the evening I've got to roam
Can't sleep in the city of neon and chrome
Feels too damn much like home
When the Spanish babies cry
So let's find a bar
So dark we forget who we are
But all the scars from the nevers and maybes die
Let's go out tonight
I have to go out tonight
You're sweet, wanna hit the streets?
Wanna wail at the moon like a cat in heat?
Just take me out tonight
Please take me out tonight
Don't forsake me out tonight
I'll let you make me out tonight
Tonight, tonight, tonight
Well, it's gotta be close to midnight

Not Me
I once knew all the answers
I stood on certain ground
A picture of true happiness
Confidence so effortless
No brighter could be found
Oh no
I never asked the questions
That trouble me today
I knew all there was to know
Love worn lightly
Put on show
My conquests on display
And who'd have thought that
Confidence could die?
Not me , not me
That all I took for granted was a lie
Not me, not me
And who'd have guessed
I'd throw my world away
To be with someone I'm afraid will say
Not me, not me
He's in love
But he's not the only one
Who'll be changed
I shall not envy lovers
But long for what they share
An empty room is merciless
Don't be surprised if I confess
I need some comfort there
And who'd have thought
That love could be so good?
Not me, not me
And show me things I never understood
Not me, not me
Who'd have guessed he'd
Throw his world away
To be with someone til his dying day
Not me, not me
And who'd have thought that love
Could be so good
Not me, not me
My secrets and
My passions understood
Not me, not me
Who'd have guessed
I'd throw my world away

Dramatis -- Fatima Merali

Name: Fatima Merali
Age: 20
Race: Dhampir
Early in 1779, a Cainite named Adam York, living in England, hired a Middle Eastern woman by the name of Shauzia Merali to work in his household. Shauzia was thought to be a witch, owing largely to her use of herbal remedies, and many of the English guests who paid a call on York would eye her suspiciously. Nevertheless, Adam treated her kindly and grew to care for her, as did his youngest daughter and childe, Artemis Seth. This affection, however, did not escape the notice of one of Adam's enemies, a fourteenth generation Ventrue named Liam Stephens. In order to settle a score with him, one night, Liam attacked the household and violently raped Shauzia. He had planned to kill her in front of Adam and Artemis, but they weren't there. Liam decided, then, that it would be a better torture to let Shauzia live, to tell her tale of horror and to ensure that Adam never felt safe in his own home. The plan worked.
In order to protect Shauzia and the rest of the household, Adam relocated them all to Ireland. There, Shauzia gave birth to a dhampir daughter, sired by Liam. Adam and Artemis vowed to keep Shauzia and her child safe from danger. Unfortunately, Adam didn't live long enough to fulfill his promise. Liam and a host of allies tracked down the family to Ireland, eventually cornering Adam and Artemis in the streets one night. Ultimately, Adam was killed, but Artemis managed to escape. She raced back to the household, waking up Shauzia and the other servants and quickly packing them onto a ship, headed for the Americas.

Can You Picture That?
Ohhh yeah! Whooo!
Everybody's lover, everybody's brother,
I wanna be your lifetime friend.
Crazy as a rocket, nothin in my pocket,
I keep it at the rainbow's end.
I never think of money, I think of milk 'n honey,
Grinnin' like a cheshire cat.
I focus on the pleasure, somethin' I can treasure,
Can you picture that?
Can you picture that?
Let me take your picture, add it to the mixture,
There it is I got you now!
Really nothin' to it, anyone can do it,
It's easy and we all know how.
Now begins the changin', mental rearrangin',
Nothing's really where it's at,
Now the Eiffel Tower's holdin up a flower.
I gave it to a Texas cat!
Fact is there's nothin out there you can't do
Yeah, even Santa Claus believes in you.
Beat down the walls, begin, believe, behold, begat.
Be a better drummer, be an up and comer
Can you picture that?
Can you picture that?
All of us are winnin, pickin and a-grinnin,
Lordy but I love to jam
Jelly-belly gigglin, dancin and a-wigglin,
Honey that's the way I am!
Lost my heart in Texas, Northern lights affect us,
I keep it underneath my hat,
Aurora Borealis, shinin down on Dallas!
Can you picture that?
Can you picture that?
Can you picture?
You gotta see it in your mind!
Can you picture?
You know it's quick and easy to find!
Can you picture?
You don't have to buy a frame!
Can you picture?
Can you picture that?
Can you picture that?
Use it if you need it
Don't forget to feed it!

Dramatis -- Sheriff Elsbeth Lennox

Name: Elsbeth Lennox
Age: Roughly 500
Race: Vampire -- Gangrel
Elsbeth Lennox was born in 1573 in the wake of Queen Mary's final defeat. The daughter of two Scottish nobles, Elsbeth was the first of six children of the Lennox Clan. Her early childhood was quiet, living in the sheltered Lennox Castle, apart from the great battles between the Scottish Clans, provoked, in large part, by the English political struggle.
While her father, George Lennox, was away in 1583, an enemy clan, the MacLeods, attacked the castle, taking everyone by surprise. Elsbeth, who was with her mother at the time of the attack, heard the servants screaming and hid behind her mother. Members of the MacLeod Clan burst into the room and killed her mother. The body fell on top of her and Elsbeth was not found. For hours, she remained under her mother's corpse, crying and praying, but no one would answer her prayers. Meanwhile, George Lennox himself was informed of the attack and decided to challenge the MacLeods himself. He was killed. To add insult to injury, the body was never returned to the family and a proper burial was never given.

Dancing Through Life
The trouble with schools is
They always try to teach the wrong lesson
Believe me, I've been kicked out of enough of them to know
They want you to become less callow, less shallow
But I say, why invite stress in?
Stop studying strife
And learn to live "the unexamined life"
Dancing through life
Skimming the surface
Gliding where turf is smooth
Life's more painless
For the brainless
Why think too hard?
When it's so soothing
Dancing through life
No need to tough it
When you can slough it off as I do
Nothing matters
But knowing nothing matters
It's just life
So keep dancing through
Dancing through life
Swaying and sweeping
And always keeping cool
Life is fraught-less
When you're thoughtless
Those who don't try
Never look foolish
Dancing through life
Mindless and careless
Make sure you're where less trouble is rife
Woes are fleeting
Blows are glancing
When you're dancing
Through life
Let's go down to the Ozdust Ballroom
We'll meet there later tonight
We can dance 'til it's light
Find the prettiest girl
Give her a whirl
Right on down to the Ozdust Ballroom
Come on, follow me
You'll be happy to be there
Dancing through life down at the Ozdust
If only because dust is what we come to
Nothing matters but knowing nothing matters
It's just life
So keep dancing through
They always try to teach the wrong lesson
Believe me, I've been kicked out of enough of them to know
They want you to become less callow, less shallow
But I say, why invite stress in?
Stop studying strife
And learn to live "the unexamined life"
Dancing through life
Skimming the surface
Gliding where turf is smooth
Life's more painless
For the brainless
Why think too hard?
When it's so soothing
Dancing through life
No need to tough it
When you can slough it off as I do
Nothing matters
But knowing nothing matters
It's just life
So keep dancing through
Dancing through life
Swaying and sweeping
And always keeping cool
Life is fraught-less
When you're thoughtless
Those who don't try
Never look foolish
Dancing through life
Mindless and careless
Make sure you're where less trouble is rife
Woes are fleeting
Blows are glancing
When you're dancing
Through life
Let's go down to the Ozdust Ballroom
We'll meet there later tonight
We can dance 'til it's light
Find the prettiest girl
Give her a whirl
Right on down to the Ozdust Ballroom
Come on, follow me
You'll be happy to be there
Dancing through life down at the Ozdust
If only because dust is what we come to
Nothing matters but knowing nothing matters
It's just life
So keep dancing through
